Ted Mayes began attending NCC In 1986 and has been an elder for 24 years. He enjoys doing projects with wife Nancy, spending time with his grandchildren and building things. His gifting is teaching and leading home groups as well as a strong interest in mentoring younger men. He is involved with the mission team and has gone on several mission trips. His goal as an elder is to bring people to a mature relationship with Christ through relationships built within the church.
Teaching believers about the Holy Spirit and their power to overcome circumstances of life is the focus of Mitch Powell, an elder at NCC since 2012. Mitch conducts a study group, on this topic, Thursday evenings at the church and also offers one-on-one consultations. In addition, Mitch and his wife, Nancy, have a teaching ministry, Today Forward, which provides teaching material on their website and through social media.
Rick and Karen Hankins started attending NCC in 2011. Rick has been an elder at NCC for 6 years. He is recently retired and enjoys traveling and volunteer work. His spiritual gifts are in administration, teaching Sunday School, and Christian counseling. The Spirit leads couples to Rick and his wife for marriage and/or financial counseling. It is a blessing for us to be a part of the NCC family.
